We stuffed Bolton 3-0 on New Year's Day. Not a happy "Halliday" for Big Sam. It could have been 8 or 9 if the finishing had been clinical. Still, can't complain (unlike their manager!)
Last time Bolton beat us 2-0 beginning with an astonishing error from Referees Assistant Andy Halliday. He gave a hand-ball against Pepe outside the box, even though Reina was a yard inside, from which they scored to set up their win. Naturally Big Sam had Arsene eyetis and didn't see it.
Crouch with another Galatasary special, Gerrard with a well controlled volley and Kuyt got a goal to reward all his hard work for the team, was enough this time to see off the Luftwaffe. 20 shots to 1 tells you of The Reds dominance.
The next game is home to Arse Nil in the FA Cup 3rd round. Wblsc will be there!!!
A demolition of Wigan, totally outclassed Pompey but couldn’t score, scrapped out a 1-0 home victory of Manc City (WBLSC were there, pics later) and a Champions League win over our nearest group rivals to finish top of the group with the away tie at Galatasary to come. The Reds unbeaten in four.
So, the problem is Rafa is going to save the first team players for the next “important” game (Stevie G hasn’t even travelled to Turkey).
I have to say I agree with Rafa but there is a problem of continuity here. Winning is a habit and if the squad players get their chance and lose, does that not affect continuity?
The rotation method employed by Benitez is something he believes strongly in, I happen to disagree on that point but then I’m not Rafa. Just because I disagree, however, doesn’t mean I don’t support the manager, I do.
I hope Rafa proves me and a lot of other doubters wrong.
The point is this, last season around this time we went on a run of about eleven games unbeaten…..winning is a habit. We are now unbeaten in four. This mini-run could develop into a long one but is the policy of the boss going to stop that from happening?
Desy, Shaggy and Brendy in the main plaza as they attended our away tie against Anderlect in the qualifing group stages. No tickets...no problem...just meet the local Anderlect fans and have a beer!
At all Premier league stadia this season.

REAL BETIS FANS ARE GREAT...THAT'S OFFICAL.
Some of the FAN tastic Real Betis fans we met in O'Neill's. To the Real Betis fans, " Muy Bien, hasta luego".

REAL BETIS MATCH REPORT (I was there!!!)
Liverpool controlled this game and
indeed was the team that actually tried to win it. Apart from a short spell near the end Betis
were largely ineffective against The Reds.
Fourteen of WBLSC members attended and really enjoyed a
wonderful midweek experience. Somehow the atmosphere at night games is better.
I watched Joaquin Gonzales closely during the game mindful
of Rafa's desire to sign a right winger.
Joaquin was anonymous for most of the game and although I have been an
admirer of the player for some time he would not meet our needs. It may be unfair to judge him on one match as
he is undoubtedly a quality footballer, however, in big games you need your big
players to perform and when Betis needed him he wasn't there.
The Real Betis fans deserve a mention. At the end of the
game they sang, "LiverpoolLiverpool"
and applauded the Reds fans. This was
received with rapturous clapping from Liverpool
supporters and chants of, "Betis..Betis".
A great end to the game.
We also met some Betis fans later in O'Neill's bar in Liverpool
and had great craic, talking, singing and exchanging scarves etc.

Congratulations Shaggy from all the members on becoming only the second holder of The Anto Conway Memorial trophy...well done.
